TWIST WINTER CLASSES
Please call the shop to reserve a space.
Building Blocks Afghan or Baby Blanket Starting from the beginning again this winter, this class is a great way to build your knitting skills. Choose a six square baby blanket or the larger twelve square afghan. You will learn something new with each block. There is a book fee of $20 for this class.
First class: Saturday, February 21 from 1:00-3:00
We’ll schedule future classes at our convenience.
Techniques: Double Pointed Needles, 2 Circulars at Once, Magic Loop or Travelling Loop; what is the best for me? We will look at different kinds of projects that are worked in the round and explore advantages of the different tools we can use in each. Bring dpns, and circular needles that are the same size (length is not important, although one very long one would be good) and yarn for practicing.
Monday, February 16 from 1-2 or
Saturday, February 28 from 11-12
Basic Mittens We will use Susan B Anderson’s, “Waiting for Winter Mittens & Fingerless Mitts” pattern which you can download yourself or pick up at Twist. Pattern cost is $4. Worsted weight yarn and a suggested size 7 double pointed needles (needle size may vary with tension and yarn choice). You may want to stay a bit longer than the scheduled time to finish a mitten.
Saturday, February 14 and Feb 21 from 11- 12:30 or
Thursday, February 19 and Feb 26 from 11-12:30
Basic Hat Another design by Susan B Anderson is the “Lost Banner Hat” and we think it is a perfect beginner hat with a great fit. It uses worsted weight yarn and size 7 circular needles 16” long and a set of size 7 double pointed needles. An option in this class is to learn the magic loop method using one circular size 7 needle at least 40” long. Your choice!
Tuesday, February 17 and Tues, February 24 from 11-12:30 or
Saturday, March 7 and Sat, March 14 from 11-12:30
Fair Isle You can choose between two patterns for this beginning Fair Isle class. The “Endless Rose Cowl” in this Spring edition of Interweave Knits or the Churchmouse “Colorwork Cuffs and Mittens” pattern, your choice. Each pattern has a charge, and they are both beautiful.
Tuesday, February 24 from 1-3 or
Saturday, March 21 from 1-3
